An unexpected visitor
We had a very unusual visitor after school on Monday 20th February. At 4.30pm the Air Ambulance landed on our school field to deliver a paramedic doctor to an emergency in our local area. As the pilots climbed out, we were very surprised to see that one of them was Prince William! We were talking to them about their very valuable role in the emergency service, when they received a call to say the patient was going to be transported by ambulance to hospital. Before they left, they had a cup of tea made by Mrs Dyer and Miss Gibbons and then went on their way back to base. We were able to take a video of the helicopter as it took off to share with the children during assembly. Prince William gave us a wave as he flew over our heads. Certainly a start to the term which we will never forget!
