SEEDC
We were absolutely thrilled to have taken part in and attended the SEEDC (South East Essex Design Competition) awards ceremony at Chase High School on the evening of Monday 27th March.
The SEEDC sees many local primary and secondary schools create showcases of their amazing art and design projects from school.
We created an exhibition using work from years 3-6, using ‘Journey Through Time’ as our theme, demonstrating our cross-curricular approach to art and also the progression of skills across the year groups. Year 5 pupils – Paige Hopkirk and Suhailah Baungally – represented the school and did an amazing job, wowing the judges with their knowledge of the processes undertaken to complete the art work. Stellar job girls!
And as a result of Friars pupils impressive art and the explanations given by the girls, Friars were awarded with a gold award!
A big thank you to the girls from West Leigh Juniors, Saffron Frankland and Rae Wheatley from year 3, who accepted our award on behalf of the Portico academy on Monday as our girls were unable to find transport to the venue
