Tri-Golf
On a sunny Wednesday afternoon we took 10 KS2 children to Garons Golf Complex to take part in some golf practice and a Tri-Golf competition. The ten children had been part of our tri-golf club over last term but some had never played the real thing. When we arrived the golf pro at Garons taught the children how to putt and then took them to the driving range to hit some balls using a real golf club. Everyone showed great improvement and even performed a trick shot by the end of the session.
After the fun of the practice it was down to the serious part and the Tri-Golf competition. The group was split and the competition involved testing putting and chipping skills. When all the scores were added up it emerged that the Friars team of Damian, Louise, Kye and Hannah were victorious. This was an amazing achievement and should see us represent Southend at the Essex finals in a few weeks.
