Hi5 Netball tournament

On Wednesday the Y5/6 mixed Hi-5 Netball team went to Garons to compete in the Southend Schools tournament. The first game against Our Lady of Lourdes saw Friars completely dominate and win 5-0. The next games saw a defeat against West Leigh and a very competitive 3-3 draw against Bournes Green, left Friars in a good position before their last match. At this time the heavens opened and hailstones the size of golf balls started to fall so it was decided to continue the competition indoors. The last game was against Earls Hall and only a win would be good enough to make the semi-finals. In the end the match was drawn 2-2, which meant a 3rd place finish in the group. It was a great performance by all of the players who all performed well on the day.
