End of Year Assembly

We had an emotional assembly on the final day of term during which we said goodbye to children and staff as well as celebrating the achievements of certain individuals.

The whole of Year 6 have worked so hard this year but there were awards handed out to children for either achievement and progress in a number of areas. The Year 6 teachers are very proud of everybody in the year group and it was lovely to celebrate their successes over the year.

We were also very proud to be able to present Tristan Miller with the Southend Sports Personality of The Year Award for his various successes this year. He was nominated by Friars staff and chosen by a panel as the outstanding sportsperson in the town at primary level this year.

Finally we said goodbye to a number of staff. Mr Cornish, Mrs Richer, Mrs Lincoln, Mrs Overy and Miss Bysouth are leaving us to take up other positions, and Mrs Witt is leaving to have a baby. We were also able to say congratulations to Miss Wallis who will return in September as Mrs Brown after her wedding in the summer.
