Alphabet Poem

Air raid sirens screaming their orders,

BOOM! BANG! go bombs against borders,

Colossal buildings crumble to crusts,

Digging a shelter is a must,

Echoes of children’s evacuation,

Farewells, goodbyes, sad occasion,

Good billets, nervous minutes,

Heartbroken men dodging bullets,

In the sky, grumbling, growling planes,

Joyless parents, full of pain.
