Celebration Assembly - 21st January 2022

Achievement Certificates

It was another great week with lots of certificates being awarded around our core values of perseverance, determination, hard work and effort.

In KS1, certificates were awarded for; enthusiasm and care to compose their English work, determination in maths, brilliant work to double numbers, great use of punctuation including commas, great effort to segment words when spelling, listening carefully to advice to improve their work and writing a stunning piece of descriptive writing.


Well done to our KS1 winners: Nicky & Sophia (1C), Hope (1B), Lilli-Anne & Logan (2S) and Lathan & Bluebella (2B)

Our Rainbow Reader awards recognise those children that read regularly at home. Well done to Charlie in 1B and Caleb, Max, Marcie, Harry, Ella and Beth in 2S for earning their awards this week.

This week in KS2 we saw certificates awarded for; amazing effort to calculate column subtraction, 100% effort in all of their work, great group work, descriptive writing that was ‘out of this world’, writing in-depth accounts of Medusa in English, showing a secure understanding of bar charts, showing superb effort, perseverance and concentration in maths and English lessons, all round brilliant hard work, great effort to convert measures in maths, devising a superb letter to the South African president to free Nelson Mandela, amazing Mayan mask artwork and showing brilliant progress in writing.


Well done to all of our KS2 certificate winners below;

Kiara, Layla & the whole of 3ML (3ML), Sophie & Nabil (3JD), Skye & Mark (4B) Tia & Daisy (4S), Ola & Hope (5VW), Dhianna & Ellie (5BW), Finley, Ashton & Freyaa (6D) and Ellie-May, Adas & Samuel (6G).

Mrs Pinckney also awarded some computing awards to Callum (2S) and Harry (3JD) for amazing coding skills using the Scratch programme. 5BW also received a computing shout out from Mrs Pinckney for their outstanding effort, patience, perseverance and determination during their challenging programming computing lesson this week.

Many congratulations go to Nabil (3JD) who has earnt his pen licence for consistently accurate joined handwriting. Well done Nabil!


Shout Outs

Our assembly shout outs this week went to;

The whole of Class 2S, Rosie (2B), Kaydee (4S) and Gracie and Isabella, our amazing Year 6 lunchtime helpers who received shout outs from Mrs Harkins and Ms Nichol.

PE Super Stars

This week it was the turn of Class 5VW to earn the PE super star class award for demonstrating outstanding teamwork during their hockey lessons. There were 4 individual awards given out to Bella-Rose, Rueben, Sean and Brooke in Class 4B, who worked amazingly together to create a superb gymnastics performance.


Attendance

It was three in a row for 2S this week as they romped away with the attendance cup for KS1, recording a best in school figure of 96.2%. In KS2, 5VW reclaimed the trophy with 93.8%.


Team Points

There was a tie in KS1 this week, with both Stirling (blue) and Stormont (green) sharing the team cup. In KS2 it was again Caernarvon who were the runaway winners.
