Celebration Assembly 3rd February 2023

Another fabulous celebration of life at Friars as we heard about all of the great things that have been happening this week.

Key Stage 1

In Key Stage 1, certificates were awarded to the children for amazing writing, great use of prepositions, super reading and excellent handwriting. In addition, we heard how children were recognised for outstanding multiplication work, always settling to work quickly and for always giving 100% effort. Well done KS1.

Our Buddy awards this week focused on kindness, helpfulness, using kind words and working as a team. Huge congratulations to Oscar, Ralph, Ozzy, Haralds, Lexi, Sonny, Albert, Harley, Teo and Frankie for not just being nominated but for also being great examples to their friends.

Well done to our Key Stage 1, key word certificate winners this week – a fabulous effort, proving that all of your hard work is paying off!

This week it was Class 2S that won the KS1 attendance cup with a figure of 95%.

Stirling, our blue team, won the KS1 team cup!

Key Stage 2

In Key Stage 2 this week , we recognised another great range of reasons for certificates to be awarded right across the curriculum.

In Years 3 and 4 these reasons included; perseverance, problem solving, super maths application of knowledge and being brilliant all-rounders who work hard in every lesson!

In Years 5 and 6, awards were shared for equally brilliant attributes such as; demonstrating resilience, being respectful to others, careful and thoughtful writing around sensitive subjects and amazing problem solving in maths.

This week Mrs Pinckney nominated Class 5A as our Computing Class of the week. They received this award for their readiness to learn and their willingness to experiment with new concepts in their programming unit of work. Lottie and Mason, the class digital leaders, collected the award on behalf of their class.

In KS2, Class 3JA won the Attendance Cup with an impressive 98%.

Blue was the colour as Stirling also won the Team Cup in KS2 Team Cup this week.

After doing the KS1 and KS2 double this week…Stirling have tightened their grip on first place in the Race for the Friars Cup. Next week is the half way stage of this academic year and our blue team look the most likely to be heading in as our half way leaders.
