Celebration Assembly –6th January 2023

This morning it was a welcome back to our spring term and with only two days in school, it was a shortened celebration but a celebration nonetheless, proving that there are always great things happening at Friars!

KS1 awards

Our KS1 children were awarded certificates this week for great handwriting, sitting smartly, being ready to learn, trying hard, concentrating and generally having a great attitude and super start to the new term.

Buddy awards

This week Lyra, Adhaat, Kenza, Jacob, Taylor and Jonathan were nominated as our Buddies for several great reasons; making pictures or a necklace for a friend, helping tidy up together, being a super kind friend and for being a good role model to class mates.

Well done and thank you for being a great example to the other children in our school.

Rainbow Readers

Congratulations to our Rainbow Readers this week who have obviously been reading lots at home during the holidays.

What a great effort!

Computing Class of the Week

This week it was 2B that impressed Mrs Pinckney with their focus and concentration in their computing lesson to earn the Computing award.

Well done 2B!

KS2 Awards

Even though it’s only been a couple of days, certificates in KS2 were awarded for perseverance, great attitude to learning, brilliant behaviour, resilience in their learning and working hard to produce successful results.

Attendance

In KS1, it was Class 1BU again who completed a hat-trick of wins, recording 92% to win the KS1 Attendance Cup.

While in KS2, Class 3JA recorded the best attendance in the school, with 97% to win the KS2 attendance cup.

This week our whole school attendance stood at 90%. We hope to see this improve further into our spring term as everybody recovers from the bugs, coughs and colds seen last term.

Team Points

There were no team points this week due to our shortened week, so Stirling still head our leader board as they did before the Christmas break.
