Infant Music Festival

On Tuesday this week, 14th March, our Key Stage 1 choir took part in the Infant Music Festival in Westcliff, run by South East Essex Schools Music Association.

The theme of this year’s festival was ‘Colour’ and all of our hard work rehearsing the songs paid off as we wowed the audience with our two solo songs “In my Paintbox” and “The World is a Wonderful Place”. The children did Friars proud and performed brilliantly.

We also performed five other songs with the other schools at the festival and had the chance to accompany the singing with a range of percussion instruments such as tambourines , claves , bells and boom whackers.

There were a lot of words to learn and we were extremely proud of the children for their wonderful singing. A big thank you to Mrs Jackson who has worked so hard with the choir to get them to the standard shown and of course, to the children for giving up their time to attend rehearsals during their lunchtimes.

Finally, thank you to all of the parents and carers who supported us with helping the children to learn lyrics and those who came along to watch.

This is always a lovely event to take part in and yet again, it was a wonderful afternoon!
