The School Day
Start and End of Day
The school day starts with an 8:30am-8:45am drop-off window for Reception, KS1 and KS2. Parents leave the children at the gates and the children walk straight into the school building ready to start their day. Reception and KS1 finish at 3:00pm and KS2 finish at 3:15pm. Parents do come onto the site at the end of the day and collect from designated places around the school. Children in Years 5 and 6 can walk home alone if they have permission.
Every morning each KS1 and KS2 class has English and maths. Throughout the afternoon, the children have the foundation subjects, the rest of the core curriculum subjects, P.E. and music.
Assemblies
During the week, children have assemblies. Assemblies are either delivered by class teachers or by the Senior Leadership Team. On Friday the children have celebration assemblies to share their achievements from the week.
On occasion, visitors from the community or persons from different religious faiths and denominations come and share assemblies with the children.
We use assemblies as an opportunity to explore our school and British values, moral issues and choices, and religious festivals.
Assemblies are an important platform that we use to inspire our children to reach their full potential. They are fantastic times where we all come together!
Morning Break
The children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 all have a 15 minute scheduled break time at 10:45am each day. If the weather is unkind, break is taken in our classrooms. The nature of our provision in Reception means that the children have regular access to the outside areas in addition to lunchtime.
Lunch
Lunchtime begins at 11.45am for EYFS and 12.00pm for Key Stages 1 and 2. Lunchtime runs up until 1.00 pm. Each year group has a time slot to be seated for their lunch which is rotated on a weekly basis.
Snacks and Water
Children in Early Years and KS1 receive a piece of fruit or vegetables for their morning break. Children in KS2 are able to bring in their own healthy snack which could be a piece of fruit or vegetables or a yoghurt.
Children should only drink water in school. Water is always available in classrooms and at break and lunch times.

The best gates for drop-off are:
Gate 1: Year 1
Gate 2: Year 2 and 3
Gate 3: Years 4, 5 and 6
Getting to school
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. We have bike racks within the school gates which can be used by all year groups. Scooters and bikes should all be used with parent supervision. If you do need to travel by car, please park in the car park opposite.
After School Provision
Every day we run our 'Extended School' up to 5:30pm. Sessions cost £8 and must be booked in advance. If you are interested in this service, please do not hesitate to speak to the school office.
